As you progress through The Final Shape storyline and increase your Guardian’s power level, you’ll encounter various rewards in The Pale Heart. Many of these rewards come in the form of gifts from your Ghost, the primary vendor at The Final Shape’s destination.

You may stumble upon destination weapons dropped by random enemies near the Traveler, but the new shader, Reaching Within, cannot be obtained this way. To add this shader to your collection, you must achieve Rank 16 with your Ghost vendor at The Pale Heart.

Seems straightforward, right? Not quite! Destiny 2 veterans are well aware that new DLC releases often bring along pesky bugs, and the situation with the Reaching Within shader is no different.

If you manage to attain Rank 16 with your Ghost or attempt to preview the shader at maximum rank, you might notice that the Ghost is offering the incorrect shader from the previous DLC, Lightfall, instead of the new Reaching Within shader in green, white, and blue.

Fortunately, Bungie is aware of this issue and is actively working on a fix, as stated in a Bungie help comment on their forum. Keep checking back for updates on their hotfixes for the Reaching Within shader. For those who already claimed their rank rewards without paying attention or reset their rank with the Ghost, there’s hope for a retroactive addition to their collections.

While waiting for Bungie to address the shader problem, you can seize the opportunity to acquire the newly fixed Khvostov Exotic rifle, which was also encountering issues with its quest.
