Unveil the answers for today’s Connections challenge, game #382:

  • YELLOW: PURSUIT CHASE, HUNT, QUEST, SEARCH
  • GREEN: ROMANTIC LETTER SIGN-OFFS ALWAYS, KISSES, LOVE, YOURS
  • BLUE: GROUP WITHIN A GROUP CAMP, PARTY, SIDE, WING
  • PURPLE: GOLD ___ BOND, LEAF, MINE, RUSH

  • My rating: Moderate
  • My score: 1 mistake

Even though I made a single error in this round, it should have ideally been zero. The groups in today’s Connections challenge are fairly straightforward, with three of them consisting of simple synonyms and the purple category presenting a more complex missing word format.

I personally tackled the green group first, identifying those romantic letter sign-offs quite easily. The yellow category, associated with pursuit, was my next conquest, followed by a momentary pause while I worked on the two tougher groups. Opting to focus on BOND due to its uncommon nature, I eventually cracked the code for GOLD, subsequently leading me to LEAF, MINE, and RUSH.

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four items that share something in common, with each group varying in difficulty: green being easy, yellow a bit tougher, blue often quite challenging, and purple usually very perplexing.

Fortunately, you don’t necessarily need to solve the final group, as it can sometimes be deduced through process of elimination. Additionally, you have the liberty to make up to four mistakes, providing a safety net of sorts.

While it is more intricate than games like Wordle, NYT Connections offers a plethora of opportunities for mind-bending tricks and wordplay. Be on the lookout for homophones and other linguistic nuances that could camouflage the answers.

You can enjoy this game for free on the NYT Games website, accessible on both desktop and mobile platforms.
