Reduce Queue Times in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail
The Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV has brought players to the New World in search of adventure after the epic saga in Endwalker. However, with the new content comes the return of queue times.
If you recall the launch of Final Fantasy XIV 6.0 (or any previous expansions), you likely remember the long wait times to log in due to the influx of players. This time around, Square Enix has provided some helpful tips for reducing queue times in Dawntrail, ensuring a smoother experience for players eager to explore new features like the Viper Job.
The Data Center travel system introduced in Endwalker has proven to be a lifesaver in Dawntrail. Players facing extended queue times have been advised to switch to a less congested Data Center. North American players are encouraged to consider Oceanian Data Centers during peak NA hours, while European players may find better queue times on the Shadow Data Center or any Oceanian DC.
If your home world is congested in Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail, follow these steps to transfer to a different Data Center:
- Start Final Fantasy XIV and reach the character selection menu.
- Right-click your character’s name to open the drop-down menu.
- Select “Visit Another Data Center.”
- Select your preferred Data Center and world.
- Select “Confirm” and then “Proceed.”
- Wait until the transfer is complete.
Transferring to a new Data Center may take some time due to Dawntrail congestion, but you will receive a notification when the process is complete. Once done, you can log in as usual and hopefully encounter a shorter queue. The new graphical overhaul in Dawntrail offers exciting content, making the queue wait more than worthwhile.
