Capcom’s latest showcase, Capcom Next, provided updates on three upcoming titles this summer. The event highlighted Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and the new iOS/Mac port of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Let’s take a closer look at each announcement, including a hint at the next Resident Evil installment.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
Prior to its release on July 19, this action-strategy game is set to receive a demo today across all platforms. The demo will feature crossover content from Okami, offering themed weapons and costumes for the main character and the maiden. While the Okami content is exclusive to the demo, Capcom hints that it may become available in the full game after launch if enough players engage with it.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster
The remastered version of the classic 2006 zombie adventure is scheduled for release on September 19 (with a physical edition arriving in November). Players got a glimpse of the updated gameplay and visual enhancements through before-and-after comparison shots. The game will support 4K resolution at 60FPS, along with dynamic real-time lighting that adjusts to the time of day. Gameplay improvements include the ability to move while aiming, an autosave feature, enhanced UI, and improved NPC behavior. Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on iOS and Mac
The latest iteration of Resident Evil on mobile devices introduces enhanced touch controls and a new auto-aim/auto-fire feature for players seeking assistance. The menu and inventory systems are now optimized for touch inputs. Players can explore the first section of the game for free, giving them a taste of the experience before making a purchase.
Furthermore, Capcom has officially confirmed the development of a new Resident Evil title. Koshi Nakanishi, director of RE7, expressed the challenges of following up on the success of the previous game but assured fans that the upcoming project feels significant. While details are scarce at the moment, Nakanishi’s statement teases an exciting future for the franchise.
