Sega’s Next Game: What’s in Store?
Sega’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, known for the popular Like A Dragon / Yakuza franchise, has teased fans with a glimpse of what they can expect from their next project.
During the ‘Essence of Fandom’ panel at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, RGG Studio hinted that fans will “be surprised” by their upcoming title, as reported by VGC.
“We can’t tell you what kind of game it is but I will tell you… you will be surprised,” shared TheYakuzaGuy on Twitter.
Speculation suggests that the next game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio may not be a mainline entry, considering the recent release of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This could indicate a spin-off or a side story like Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which explored Kazuma Kiryu’s story between two mainline games.
While RGG Studio has also worked on other Sega properties like Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, the panel focused on the Like A Dragon series, hinting that their next game is likely connected to that franchise.
Potential possibilities include a spin-off featuring popular side characters or a third installment in the Judgment series, set in the same world as Like A Dragon. Fortunately, RGG Studio is known for their efficient development process, so fans may not have to wait long for more details.
