The iconic Double Dragon series, originating in the arcades in 1987, has been a staple in the gaming world for over 35 years, releasing titles consistently throughout its history. Just last year, fans were treated to Double Dragon Gaiden, a retro-style brawler that paid homage to the franchise’s roots.
This newest installment takes on a more modern approach with its fully realized 3D graphics. While the series has dabbled in the third dimension before, it remains a unique occurrence for the Double Dragon franchise. Developed by Yuke’s, known for their work on wrestling titles like WWE 2K and AEW: Fight Forever, and presented by Arc System Works, the studio behind acclaimed fighters Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, fans can expect a fresh take on the classic beat ’em up formula.
Double Dragon Revive is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and One, and PC in the year 2025, bringing new life to the beloved series.
