Spark the Electric Jester 3 Coming to Nintendo Switch
FreakZone Games has announced that the highly popular indie platformer Spark the Electric Jester 3 will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch. Players in North America can expect to get their hands on the game on 25th July, while those in Europe and Australia will have to wait until 1st August.
Inspired by the Sonic Adventure series, Spark the Electric Jester 3 brings back the beloved titular character in a leading role. Originally released on Steam in 2022, the game has garnered a lot of praise from players. One fan even described it as “basically the Sonic Adventure 3 we never got,” while another mentioned that it fulfilled “everything I wished for in 3D sonic games.”
The Spark series first began in 2017 with the release of Spark the Electric Jester on Steam, which was a 2D platformer. While the initial game is exclusive to PC, the sequel Spark the Electric Jester 2 is available on both PC and Xbox platforms.
The main character in the game is inspired by a power-up found in a Sonic fan game created by Felipe Daneluz, also known as LakeFeperd, in 2013 called Sonic After the Sequel. This power-up, resembling Kirby’s Beam ability, transforms Sonic into a jester-like character.
Daneluz is the sole developer behind the Spark series, and it seems like the third installment may be his greatest achievement yet. With all the positive buzz surrounding the game, it’s definitely worth giving it a try.
