There’s Hope for a New Driver Game by Ubisoft

Is a New Driver Game on the Horizon?

Fans were given a glimmer of hope recently when Ubisoft hinted at future projects for the beloved Driver franchise. This news comes after the cancellation of a live-action Driver series that was set to stream on Binge, leaving many wondering about the fate of the gaming series.

According to journalist Stephen Totilo, the production company responsible for the canceled live-action series, Hotrod Tanner LLC, has been dissolved following the end of Ubisoft’s partnership with the streaming platform. However, Ubisoft has assured fans that they are actively working on new projects related to the Driver franchise.

While Ubisoft has not explicitly confirmed the development of a new Driver game, the company’s statement has sparked excitement among fans who have been eagerly awaiting a new installment in the series.

The last major release in the Driver series, Driver: San Francisco, hit the shelves in 2011 and received praise from critics. Despite Ubisoft’s acknowledgment that the game exceeded its expectations, it fell short commercially. Rumors suggest that a new Driver game was once in the works, but some of its features were incorporated into the original Watch Dogs title instead.
