Dead By Deadlight Gets Lara Croft Survivor Today, 2v8 Mode And Cross Progression On The Way

Lara Croft Joins Dead by Daylight

The 8th-anniversary stream for Dead by Daylight brought some exciting updates for players of the popular asymmetrical horror game. One of the most anticipated additions is Lara Croft, specifically the 2013 reboot version, who joins the game as a crossover survivor. While she may not have her iconic pistols and bow, Lara comes with three new perks that showcase her adventuring skills.

  • Finesse: Your fast vaults are faster when healthy, with a cooldown after a successful use.
  • Hardened: When you open a Chest and cleanse or bless a Totem, Hardened activates for the duration of the Trial. Every time you scream, the Killer’s Aura is revealed.
  • Specialist: Gain tokens when opening or rummaging through a Chest. Consuming a token during a Great Skill Check reduces the required Generator progress.

Introducing the 2v8 Mode

Launching on July 25, the new 2v8 multiplayer mode will introduce two Killers facing off against eight survivors across expanded versions of five classic maps. The number of generators has been doubled, and survivors must repair 8 out of 13 to make their escape. Captive survivors will now be placed directly into cages, while Survivor perks have been revamped into a new role system aimed at promoting teamwork.

Cross-Progression Implementation

Starting from July 22, cross-progression will be available to players, allowing them to sync their progress across different platforms. While most platforms support cross-progression, the Switch version has a few limitations as outlined in the chart below.

Today’s stream also unveiled a new trailer and the release date for The Casting of Frank Stone, a single-player game developed by Supermassive Games (known for Until Dawn and The Quarry). For more details on this exciting announcement, click here.
