FFXIV Dawntrail Arcadion M2 Guide

Encounter Details

Prepare for the second encounter in the Arcadion raid series, facing off against the formidable boss, Honey B. Lovely. This battle takes place in a circular arena, with the outer edges posing a lightning damage-over-time threat if players are knocked into them.

Players must be wary during certain phases of the fight, as they will receive a heart gauge above their character displaying three empty hearts. Taking hits from certain mechanics will fill these hearts, and if all three are filled, the player will fall under the Fatal Attraction debuff for four seconds, rendering them unable to act.

Phase 1

Phase 1 kicks off with the introduction of Honey B. Lovely’s mechanics.

Honey B. Lovely initiates the phase with Call Me Honey, a standard raid-wide magical damage attack. Immediately following is Honeyed Breeze, a conal tank buster targeting both tanks. To survive, tanks must maintain distance from each other and utilize their cooldowns effectively.

Players should be ready for Honey B. Lovely’s next moves, Tempting Twist and Honey Beeline, which bring a donut AoE and a horizontal line AoE respectively. Properly dodge these attacks to avoid damage.

The tension rises with the casting of Honey B. Live, another raid-wide attack that triggers the heart gauge mechanic mentioned earlier.

Once Love Me Tender is cast, all players will receive an AoE mark that grants one heart stack. Subsequently, Fracture follows, placing three heart towers on the arena. It is crucial for a player to occupy each tower and absorb the damage; failure to do so will result in additional damage and more heart stacks for the team. Ideally, tanks and a DPS should handle this mechanic.

Be vigilant during Loveseeker, as hearts projectiles will fill the arena, followed by another iteration of Love Me Tender, marking random locations with heart AoEs. Getting hit by any of these attacks will add a heart stack, emphasizing the importance of dodging. Prioritize survival over DPS during this phase.

To wrap up Phase 1, expect Blow Kiss, targeting a random player with a conal AoE, immediately before another raid-wide attack, Honey B. Live.

Phase 2

Phase 2 introduces new mechanics to keep players on their toes.

  • Splash of Venom: Honey B. Lovely equips her weapon with poison, causing blobs on the ground that explode in sizable AoEs. Players will also receive an AoE mark with a poison resistance down effect.
  • Drop of Venom: Similar to Splash of Venom, this attack creates exploding blobs and marks a random player with a stack marker for poison resistance down.

Following Tempting Twist and Honey Beeline, expect either Splash or Drop of Venom and react promptly. Watch out for additional poison drops in the arena that detonate after a brief delay.

Furthermore, Groupbees will join the fray with Alarm Pheromones, forming a line AoE with green tethers. Maneuver around the arena edges to sidestep consecutive AoEs. After the rotation, a new set of Groupbees will fire simultaneously. Position yourself adjacent to the group to avoid damage. Prepare to dodge the upcoming Honey Beeline as Groupbees disappear.

During the second Honey B. Live mechanic in Phase 2, two stack markers will appear on teammates. Stack with at least three players to divide the incoming AoE damage effectively. Following this, four heart towers will appear, necessitating proper soaking.

Prepare for the variation in Alarm Pheromones mechanics as Groupbees fire their line AoEs simultaneously one at a time. Focus on evasion to avoid being knocked outside the arena by a stray hit.

Honey B. Lovely concludes Alarm Pheromones with another Venom ability, resetting the Phase 2 mechanics for players to navigate until either clearing the encounter or facing enrage.
