Firewalk Studios’ Insights on Concord
Firewalk Studios has provided some new insights into their upcoming PvP hero shooter Concord, set to launch next month. One notable detail from their recent FAQ is that the game will not include a battle pass.
According to the Gameplay animation director of Concord, “No Battle Pass, folks. You own Concord, Concord doesn’t own you.” This decision was further explained in the studio’s FAQ thread, emphasizing the focus on providing a rich experience from day one through gameplay, leveling up, and completing tasks to earn meaningful rewards.
Players can look forward to a range of rewards including hundreds of outfits, skins, charms, animations, and other cosmetic items. Firewalk Studios confirmed that these rewards will be purely cosmetic and will not affect gameplay.
Despite the absence of a battle pass, Concord promises to deliver substantial content. The game is set to launch with 12 unique maps, a considerable increase from the five available during the beta phase. Additional maps, game modes, and characters will be introduced in seasonal updates. Players can also expect new cinematics every week to deepen their connection with the game’s characters.
While Concord received positive reviews during its recent beta testing, player engagement on PC fell below expectations, with fewer than 50 participants after just one day. The performance on PS5 remains unknown, but if it follows a similar trend, the game may struggle to find a lasting audience. With a price tag of $40, Concord may have a chance at redemption, but time will tell if it can attract a dedicated player base in the crowded gaming market.
