Nintendo and Lego to Release Super Mario World Set in 16-Bit Style
Nintendo and Lego have a surprise in store for fans of Super Mario World, with a new set expected to launch later this year. A recent leak has provided a glimpse of what’s to come, showcasing Cape Mario riding Yoshi in a unique interactive Lego build. The set features a handle that can be rotated to make Yoshi’s tongue stick out, adding an exciting element to the construction process.
According to Jay’s Brick Blog, the Lego Super Mario World set will consist of 1,215 pieces and is anticipated to hit stores on October 1. The information was initially spotted on a Singaporean Lego certified store website, as reported by IGN. Although the webpage has since been removed, images of the product were captured before its disappearance.
With Lego’s presence at San Diego Comic-Con, there is a possibility that the 16-bit Super Mario World set could be officially unveiled sooner than expected. The packaging for the set indicates that it is designed for adults, with an age recommendation of 18+ displayed on the box.
The collaboration between Lego and Nintendo first began in 2020 with the release of an interactive Lego Super Mario set. Since then, expansions featuring characters like Donkey Kong, Diddy, and Dixie have expanded the collection. Looking ahead, fans can anticipate a Lego Mario Kart set set to launch around 2025.
Earlier this month, several Lego Super Mario sets were featured in Amazon Prime Day deals, with discounts available on select bundles. While some offers have returned to their original prices, there are still opportunities to purchase certain sets at a reduced rate.
