New Limited Edition DualSense Controller Launching with Astro Bot on Sep. 6
Astro Bot, the second full-fledged title featuring the de facto PlayStation mascot, is set to release on Sep. 6. To celebrate the occasion, PlayStation is unveiling a limited edition DualSense controller inspired by the blue-eyed bot. Pre-orders for this custom controller, priced at $79.99, will go live on Aug. 8 and will be accessible for reservation from PlayStation and select retailers before the Sep. 6 launch date.
Controller Design and Features
The limited edition DualSense controller features blue accents on the handles and buttons, along with sci-fi inspired carvings on the grips and around the analog sticks. The standout addition is a pair of blue eyes in the middle of the touchpad, adding a unique touch to the controller’s overall design. While the eyes don’t change expressions based on gameplay, they do bring a sense of emotion to the otherwise standard peripheral.
Aside from its aesthetic theme, this controller offers the same functionality as the standard DualSense controller. It includes motion controls, haptic feedback capable of replicating textures in specific environments, and adaptive triggers designed to simulate tension and resistance during gameplay.
