Arrowhead Game Studios Details Helldivers 2’s Freedom’s Flame Warbond
Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed the latest Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2, titled Freedom’s Flame. This new update promises exciting fire-themed armaments and additional features, set to launch alongside the game’s highly anticipated “biggest ever update” on Tuesday, 6th August.
“Incinerate everything standing in your path with new weaponry almost too hot to handle,” Arrowhead exclaimed on the PlayStation Blog. “Survive the heat of battle with lifesaving armor; and burn brightly across the cosmos with fresh emotes, capes, and skins.”
For those seeking specifics, Freedom’s Flame introduces the SG-451 Cookout as a new primary weapon capable of unleashing a “burst of incendiary phosphorus pellets” at enemies. It also features the FLAM-66 Torcher lightweight flamethrower as a secondary primary weapon.

In the realm of secondary weapons, players can expect the P-72 Crisper pocket flamethrower, which functions like a handgun that can spew fire over short distances. Additionally, the new Fiery Drop – Firebomb Hellpods will be available on the booster front. Arrowhead explains, “Scorch the earth (and anything else) below, as you touch down with attitude and ignite the dropsite.”
Freedom’s Flame also introduces two new armor sets – the blood-red I-09 Heatseeker and the silica fiber foam I-102 Draconaut. The new Inflammable! armor passive grants 75 percent damage resistance to fire. Other exciting Warbond unlocks include the Fire Safety Officer title and the Safety Orange skin for the Shuttle, Hellpod, and Exosuit.
On the emote front, players can look forward to the Big Stretch, Deep Reflection, and Thoracic Collision Exultation Manoeuvre Co-emote. Cape enthusiasts will be pleased with the addition of the Purifying Eclipse cape to swish about in. And finally, The Breach card commemorates the final mission of the 361st Freedom’s Flame, where the squad was deployed into the heart of a Supervolcano – for freedom!
All these exciting features will be available to players who obtain the required Super Credits to purchase the Freedom’s Flame Warbond when it launches on 6th August. This coincides with the release of Helldivers 2’s awaited free Escalation of Freedom update, described as the game’s “biggest update yet.” This update introduces new mission objectives, bigger enemy outposts, a new Combat Rating 10 difficulty, new enemies, and a makeover for swamp worlds. Players can also expect changes to address grief kicking.
