BioWare Announces Release Date for Dragon Age: The Veilguard
BioWare has finally confirmed that the highly anticipated Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be released this Fall.
After a decade of waiting, fans of the Dragon Age series were thrilled to get a first look at The Veilguard in June through an extended gameplay demo. The game is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC in Fall 2024.
Since the initial reveal, BioWare has been quiet about sharing more details or teaser trailers for the game. However, the studio has now promised to unveil new information in August, which will include the release date and a roadmap.
In a blog post following their appearance at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), BioWare stated, “We’ll have more to share next month – including a new roadmap, more looks at the game, and our official release date.”
EA, the publisher of BioWare, also provided a hint about the game’s release window in its recent financial results calendar. Initially absent from the lineup, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is now listed for a Q3 launch, indicating a release after October 1. The game could potentially be released in October, November, or December.
While BioWare has not confirmed any post-launch downloadable content (DLC) for The Veilguard yet, the mention of a roadmap suggests that players can expect expansion packs similar to previous Dragon Age games.
A roadmap usually includes not only DLC plans but also additional features that may be introduced in the game later, like a photo mode or other quality-of-life improvements. Fans will have to stay tuned for more updates.
