Solving the blue group early on always gives a sense of relief, as it sets the tone for the rest of the puzzle. Typically, the yellow and green groups are more straightforward, making the journey through purple much smoother.

Today, the blue group was a breeze for a physics enthusiast like me – spotting X-RAY and RADIO together immediately clicked, and MICROWAVE was another obvious inclusion. VISIBLE might have stumped some players, but all those hours studying telescopes and quantum physics paid off.

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is a popular word game created by the New York Times, challenging players to find groups of four items that share a commonality. Each group varies in difficulty, with green being the easiest and purple the most challenging.

Players can make up to four mistakes and do not necessarily need to solve the final group, as it can often be deduced through process of elimination. The game can be played for free on the NYT Games site on both desktop and mobile.

Unlike simpler word games like Wordle, NYT Connections offers more complexity and tricks to keep players on their toes. Look out for word games and homophones that may disguise the true answers.
