Don’t Redeem PS Stars Points Against PS Store Rewards

Sony’s PS Stars points system continues to baffle players

Despite being in existence for almost two years, Sony’s PS Stars points system still leaves many players scratching their heads. Whether it’s the convoluted rewards sections or the lack of clear communication from Sony, confusion reigns supreme.

Sony’s lack of clarity

The PS Stars rewards section is divided into three parts: digital collectibles, PlayStation Store rewards, and Wallet funds. While some may find value in digital collectibles, the real benefit lies in Wallet funds. These funds provide players with PS Store credit that can be used during sales, ultimately saving them money.

On the other hand, redeeming points for games and add-ons from the PS Store rewards section may not be the best use of points. These items are often on sale at some point, making it more cost-effective to use Wallet funds instead.

Is PS Stars worth it?

For frequent PS Store shoppers who are also PS Plus members, the PS Stars loyalty program can be a decent way to earn rewards. However, with little to no improvements or clear communication from Sony, the program’s benefits remain somewhat unclear.

In my opinion, the entire PS Store rewards section lacks substance and fails to truly deliver value to players.
