Backing Up and Restoring Your Nova Drift Save File
Nova Drift, recently released on Steam, is currently facing a bug that has caused some players to lose their save game progress. While such occurrences are rare, it is always a good idea to take precautions by manually backing up and restoring your Nova Drift save file.
To backup and restore your Nova Drift save file, follow the steps below:
- C:UsersUSERAppDataLocalNovaDrift
If you are unable to locate the save files in the specified folder, try renaming the User Folder to match your system user name. For example, if your account name is Peter, rename the USER folder to Peter.
- C:UsersPeterAppDataLocalNovaDrift
To trigger a save restore from Steam, locate the accountLevel file, open it with Notepad, and edit the numbers inside to a random number. If needed, launch the game, play for a few minutes, die, and check the AppData folder again if you are unable to locate the accountLevel file.
In addition to renaming the file, you can also fix save game issues by verifying the integrity of game files. Follow these steps:
- Launch the Steam desktop application and go to Library.
- Right-click on the game and select Properties.
- Click on installed files from the left and then click on Verify integrity of game files.
Allow Steam to scan all game-related files on your system. If any issues are detected, Steam will replace the damaged files accordingly. Verifying game file integrity is a quick way to address various game-related bugs and problems.
