Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Introduces New Zombies Experience
The latest installment in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 6, is bringing back the Round-Based Zombies mode with two new maps at launch. Fans have been eagerly awaiting more details on what to expect from this fresh encounter with the undead.
Story
Set in 1991, Black Ops 6‘s Zombies campaign picks up five years after the events of Black Ops Cold War. Previous protagonists join forces with new characters to escape the mysterious Terminus Island, uncovering the dark secrets behind the outbreak. Players will have the opportunity to delve deeper into the narrative by playing as specific characters and engaging in unique dialogue interactions.
Terminus
Terminus Island, located in the Philippine Sea, serves as the backdrop for one of the biggest Zombies maps to date. It’s a chaotic environment filled with undead creatures and a variety of set pieces that make the location feel immersive and eerie. Players will encounter new challenges, including facing off against the terrifying Amalgam, a monstrous entity composed of various body parts.
The island features diverse landscapes, from jungle areas to prison facilities to the open sea, providing players with plenty of exploration opportunities.
Equipment
New equipment in Black Ops 6 includes the versatile Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon and the Tentacle Trap, offering different ways to tackle the zombie hordes. Players can also utilize a drivable Tactical Raft to navigate the treacherous waters around the island.
New Systems
The upcoming Zombies experience introduces Augments, GobbleGums, and Weapon Builds to enhance gameplay and customization options. Augments allow for upgrades to perks and abilities, while GobbleGums offer consumable gameplay enhancements. Weapon Builds let players create personalized loadouts to suit their playstyle.
Fan-Requested Features
Addressing feedback from fans, Black Ops 6 introduces several HUD presets and the ability to save and quit solo Zombies matches. These features enhance the player experience by offering more customization and flexibility during gameplay.
Liberty Falls
In addition to Terminus, Black Ops 6 will launch with Liberty Falls, a small town in West Virginia that becomes the focal point of another zombie outbreak. More details about this map will be revealed at the Call of Duty NEXT event on August 28.
