Final Fantasy XVI Brave Blade Coming to PS5 Later

Final Fantasy XVI to Introduce Brave Blade Weapon for PS5

Exciting news for Final Fantasy fans as the upcoming game, Final Fantasy XVI, will be introducing a new weapon called the Brave Blade on the PS5. Originally featured in Final Fantasy V, this weapon is currently a pre-order bonus for the PC version of the game. However, PS5 players can rest assured that the Brave Blade will also be available to them in the near future.

When Can PS5 Players Expect the Arrival of the Brave Blade in Final Fantasy XVI?

While PC players will have access to the Brave Blade upon the game’s release on September 17, Square Enix has confirmed that it will be included in the PS5 version at a later date. The exact timing of this addition has not been specified by the developers.

Aside from the Brave Blade, PC pre-order bonuses for Final Fantasy XVI also include the Cait Sith Charm (Gil Boost Accessory) and the “Sixteen Bells” Orchestrion Roll. While these bonuses are already available in the console version, PS5 players who pre-ordered the game received the charm, and the Orchestrion Roll was accessible through a Taco Bell promotion.

With the PC version of the game launching more than a year after its initial release on the PS5, Square Enix is moving towards a multiplatform approach that encompasses Nintendo platforms, PlayStation, Xbox, and PCs. This shift aims to make their major franchises and AAA titles more accessible to a wider audience.

Director of FF16, Hiroshi Takai, shared with GamesRadar+ his belief that future Final Fantasy games could potentially have simultaneous releases on multiple platforms. However, he emphasized that each project team would have the autonomy to decide on their release strategy.
