A new set of Housing Lottery schedules is up, and it’s the best time for players to make their final moves to get a house in Final Fantasy XIV. The current schedule is the last one for August until a new timeline is featured in the coming months. Players who want to own a house in any specific place should ensure they have their deposits ready to make their final bid.
Exploring the Final Fantasy XIV Housing System
The FFXIV Housing System authentically simulates how housing experiences work. In Final Fantasy XIV, players need to bid on specific plots in select districts and hope that they’ll get drawn during the allotted schedule. This process is complex — it can take gamers multiple attempts to get their preferred or desired housing.
Individual players or a free company can own private estates, which must be kept active to prevent demolition. Any plot not accessed within 45 days will be automatically demolished and included in the Housing Lottery Circulation. Fortunately, Square Enix gives us enough notifications to remind us to access the estate.
August 2024 Lottery Schedule
We only have one Lottery Period this month, so any players looking to get a house should take this last opportunity to bid for the houses they want. Otherwise, they might have to wait a while before the next lottery goes up. Here’s the entire schedule for August, including both past and present slots:

- August 22 to 27: Entry Period
- August 27 to September 1: Results Period
Finished Active Lottery Schedule
- August 4 to 9: Entry Period
- August 9 to 13: Results Period
- August 13 to 18: Entry Period

Time Zone Differences
If you’re playing on different servers, you should know the server reset for each region. Make sure to consult this to ensure that you get all the current schedules. Here are the reset timers per region:
- 8 A.M. PDT (West Coast NA)
- 11 A.M. EDT (East Coast NA)
- 4 P.M. BST (UK)
- 5 P.M. CEST (EU/Paris)
- 12 A.M. JST the following day (JP/Tokyo)
- 1 A.M. AEST the following day (Australia/Sydney)
If you miss the current schedule, you’ll have to wait for the next one to attempt a bid for a plot you want.
Understanding How the Lottery Works
FFXIV’s Housing Lottery is the only method to acquire a plot to build your estate that is bigger than an apartment. There are minimal vacancies per instance, so players must compete for a spot to become a house owner. You need to make a bid during specific schedules during the Entry Period and wait until the release of the Results to see if you got picked. However, you must claim your win during the Results Period, or your prize and 50% of the deposit will be forfeited.
Maintaining an Active House
You can keep your estate active by accessing it once every month, which means you need to be subbed to the game. However, you can work around this by utilizing the demo grace period. A House can only be demolished after 45 days of inactivity. If you don’t want to subscribe every month, you can skip a month and then sub again to enter your house a few days before the scheduled demo. Since Square Enix alerts you about pending demolitions, you should always check your email to keep yourself updated.
