Gaming accessory brand CRKD introduces the Atom, a compact controller that can fit on a keychain. After testing some early production samples at Gamescom, I believe this mini controller is among the best I’ve experienced.
The Atom is now available for purchase and is set to ship later this month. It comes in a variety of bold colors, including Pal Grey, CRKD Grey, Leaf Green, Hot Pink, Sky Blue, and Yuzu Yellow. Additionally, there are two semi-transparent editions: Atom Purple and Glacier Blue. Each Atom controller is priced at $19.99 and is compatible with Nintendo Switch, PC, mobile devices, and other Bluetooth-enabled devices like Smart TVs. Featuring a ten-hour battery life and USB-C charging, the controller’s compact size is truly impressive.
Measuring just 2.7 inches long, 1.4 inches wide, and 0.5 inches deep, the Atom is incredibly small. Its size makes it easy to store in a pocket or attach to keys. Each controller comes with a removable wrist strap to prevent loss during travel or intense gaming sessions.
I tested the Atom by playing Disney Speedstorm on mobile and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch. Despite its small size, the controller offered a smooth gaming experience.
While it may not replace a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, the Atom is a great affordable option for those looking for a stylish, portable controller with functionality. Like other CRKD products, the Atom is fully compatible with the CRKD true Collection System app, allowing owners to register their controllers as collectibles and discover their unique product numbers and rarity ranks.
