Ubisoft is resurrecting Heroes of Might & Magic for the series’ 30th anniversary

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era

Ubisoft is bringing back the beloved turn-based strategy series, Heroes of Might & Magic, with a brand new mainline instalment set to release in 2025. This upcoming game, titled Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, marks the eighth entry in the series and coincides with the 30th anniversary celebration.

A Journey to Jadame

Olden Era serves as a prequel to the entire fantasy saga, delving into the origins of the world as players embark on a non-linear campaign to Jadame. This “mysterious continent in turmoil” has been mentioned in previous games but never fully explored until now.

Building Castles and Leading Armies

“Traverse a vibrant and living fantasy world full of wonders and dangers,” teases the announcement for Olden Era. Players can look forward to building magnificent castles, raising massive armies, and engaging in epic and highly tactical battles featuring heroes and mythical creatures.

Ubisoft has confirmed five factions – Temple, Necropolis, Sylvan, Dungeon, and Hive – with a sixth yet to be revealed. Olden Era will also feature revamped AI, multiple game modes, a random map generator, and in-game editor tools for sharing creations.

Release and Early Access

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is set to launch in “Q2” of the upcoming year. Initially, the game will be available as a Steam early access title on PC, allowing players and the community to participate in the game’s development actively.
