Astro Bot Speed Run Stages Return as Post-Launch DLC

Astro Bot fans can look forward to free post-launch DLC that will include speed run stages reminiscent of Astro Bot Rescue Mission. According to Team Asobi, these levels were originally meant to be included in the main game but were not completed in time for the launch deadline, prompting the decision to release them as free DLC at a later date.

Astro Bot DLC also includes “playful” stages

Nicolas Doucet, the studio head at Team Asobi, revealed in an interview with Famitsu that the upcoming DLC will feature both exciting speed run stages and playful stages, similar to those found in the previous game. Fans of Time Trial levels from Rescue Mission will enjoy the challenge of completing short levels in less than 60 seconds.

Doucet expressed that the focus of the DLC will be on providing challenges and more complex gameplay. However, there are also plans to incorporate elements that cater to a wider range of players, including levels that offer a more toy-like experience. These “playful stages” mentioned in the Famitsu interview are likely to provide a different gameplay experience for Astro Bot players.

In Astro Bot Rescue Mission, players encountered three types of challenge levels: Time Trials, Score Attacks, and Boss Challenges. While the introduction of speed run stages is confirmed for the new game, it remains uncertain whether the other two types of challenges will also be included in the DLC.

Anticipation is high as Astro Bot is set to be released next week on September 6. Fans can expect the free DLC to be available before the end of the year, although details on whether it will be delivered in a single update or multiple stages are still unclear.
