Pokémon Go is hosting a special Popplio Community Day event on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 2-5 p.m. in your local time.
Research has shown that the Shiny rates during Community Days are approximately 1 in 24. This means that by actively playing throughout the event, you have a good chance of encountering multiple Shiny Popplio.

During the event, evolving Brionne into Primarina between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. in your local time will teach it the charged move Hydro Cannon.
If you miss this opportunity, there may be a chance to evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December to obtain Hydro Cannon. Alternatively, you can use an Elite TM to acquire the move.
Primarina is highly regarded in PvP battles, especially with the Hydro Cannon move obtained during its Community Day. Additionally, when equipped with Waterfall and Hydro Cannon, Primarina serves as a potent water-type attacker.
While overshadowed by Megas, Legendaries, and Shadow Pokémon, a regular Primarina remains a formidable choice worth adding to your team.

To make the most of the event, be sure to activate a Lucky Egg and Incense while capturing powerful Popplio. Additionally, players who can Mega Evolve Blastoise, Slowbro, Gyarados, Swampert, or Kyogre will receive extra Popplio Candy per catch.
Furthermore, Niantic has scheduled special four-star raids from 5-10 p.m. Participating in a Brionne raid between these times will cause Popplio to spawn in a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes. These raids require in-person participation, offering another opportunity to capture the desired Popplio.
