In response to the assertion about using used parts, Mark Cerny of PlayStation pointed out that a pre-owned console is much more budget-friendly compared to a PC constructed from secondhand components, ultimately making the console a more cost-effective option.
Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Cerny stated, “They had to get a used motherboard. That was the only way that they could build a PS5 equivalent for a PS5 price. And if you’re using used parts…well you can get a used PS5 on eBay for $300-something.”
