Soulslike Enotria: The Last Song delayed indefinitely on Xbox as dev says it’s being ignored by Microsoft

Enotria: The Last Song Delayed on Xbox

Enotria: The Last Song, the “summer Soulslike” from Italian indie developer Jyamma Games, has hit a roadblock with its Xbox release. The game, originally scheduled to launch on 19th September, has been indefinitely delayed on the Xbox platform. Jyamma Games has pointed fingers at Microsoft, claiming the tech giant has “decided to ignore us” during the certification process.

Erratic Relationship with Xbox

Enotria, a third-person action-adventure game inspired by Italian folklore and set in a sun-lit world, has had a turbulent journey with the Xbox platform. Initially, Jyamma Games announced that the game would not launch on Xbox simultaneously with other platforms in order to prioritize a better experience for PC and PS5 players.

However, a few months later, a revised release date was revealed, pushing the launch to September with an Xbox version back in consideration. Unfortunately, the studio has once again pumped the brakes on the Xbox release, citing “challenges” as the reason for the indefinite delay.

Further elaboration on the situation was provided by Jyamma CEO Jacky Greco on Discord. He expressed frustration over the lack of response from Xbox, stating, “Obviously they don’t care about Enotria and they don’t care about you.” Despite having the Xbox Series X/S version ready, Jyamma Games is unable to proceed with submission and release, as Microsoft seems to have turned a blind eye to their efforts.

Similar sentiments were echoed on Enotria’s Twitter feed, with communication issues with Xbox highlighted as the main obstacle. Jyamma Games expressed that while the game runs smoothly on Series S and X, the submission process is being held back by prolonged response times from Microsoft.

Communication Breakdown

Greco shed light on the specific issue faced by the studio, mentioning the inability to open Enotria’s Xbox store page and submit the game. Despite initial reassurances from Microsoft’s support teams, subsequent communications went unanswered, leaving Jyamma Games in a limbo. The studio expressed eagerness to release the game on Xbox promptly, but the lack of communication from Microsoft makes it a daunting task.

As a result of the ongoing situation, Enotria: The Last Song will launch on 19th September for PlayStation 5 and PC only, with the Xbox release hanging in uncertainty until Microsoft responds to Jyamma Games.
