Fixing the Save Data Issue in Astro Bot with Update 1.003.000
After the release of Astro Bot last week, many players experienced a save data problem that resulted in lost progress. Fortunately, the latest update 1.003.000 seems to have resolved this issue.
What Was the Save Data Issue Fixed in Astro Bot Update 1.003.000?
Players of Astro Bot discovered a save data issue where the autosave function was not functioning correctly. Essentially, a save file would not be created until the player exited to the main menu. This meant that if the game crashed, as reported by some players, all progress would be lost.
Team Asobi took note of the feedback and addressed the problem with the new Astro Bot update 1.003.000. In a Reddit discussion regarding the update, multiple users confirmed that the issue appears to have been resolved. One user, ConfusedCartman, detailed their testing process to confirm the fix.
“I tested by completing the first level and then exiting the game without going back to the main menu. When I restarted, my save data was still intact,” explained ConfusedCartman. “I cannot confirm if this patch addresses overheating concerns, but I can now play without the worry of losing significant progress.”
Although the update has fixed the save data issue, some users still reported ongoing problems with Astro Bot, including crashes and overheating. It is important to note that the update focused solely on bug fixes and did not introduce any new content.
Astro Bot was released exclusively for PS5 last week. In our review, Shaan Joshi described it as “an absolute masterpiece filled with charm, creativity, and a genuine passion for video games, both old and new.” So, it’s safe to say it’s pretty great!
Not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for Astro Bot, as evidenced by Days Gone director John Garvin’s recent social media post criticizing Bend Studio for allowing Team Asobi to turn protagonist Deacon St. John into a cute robot.
