Introducing the Latest Xbox Insiders Update
Starting this week, Xbox Insiders, including Alpha Skip-Ahead users on Xbox consoles and those in the PC Gaming preview on Windows PCs and handheld devices, can get a sneak peek at the updated friends and followers experience. This update brings new relationships, enhanced privacy settings, and customizable notifications, allowing users to tailor their social interactions on Xbox across all their devices.
Revamped Friends and Followers System
Friend requests are making a comeback! Users can now easily send, accept, or delete friend requests, simplifying the process of connecting with others. Friends now require mutual approval, giving users more control over their connections. Meanwhile, following someone remains a one-way interaction, enabling users to stay updated with their shared content.
Easy Setup Process
Existing friends and followers will automatically update with this change. To manage your friends and followers on Xbox consoles, simply press the Xbox button to open the guide and navigate to the People tab. From here, users can view their existing friends, accept or delete friend requests, and send new friend requests.
Moreover, managing friends and followers is just as seamless across all devices, including Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and handheld devices.
Enhanced Social Experience Control
In addition to the new friends and followers features, Xbox is introducing new privacy and notification settings. Users can now determine who can send them friend requests or follow their account, as well as customize their notification preferences.
On Xbox consoles, users can update their privacy settings by going to Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy, then selecting View details & customize > Friends, followers & clubs. Notification preferences can also be updated under Settings > Preferences > Notifications.
