Players Surprised by Sony’s Unexpectedly Generous PS Stars Points Reward
Sony has been surprising select members with an abundance of PS Stars points for simply completing campaigns. It remains unclear whether this is a system glitch or a deliberate act of generosity from Sony, but numerous players have reported receiving a significant 500 points for campaigns that usually only grant 50 points.
A wave of discussions emerged on Reddit, with players sharing their experiences of receiving 500 points for monthly campaigns such as playing any game from the PS Plus Essential lineup, which traditionally awards a mere 50 points. Interestingly, some users have not only seen the campaign promise 500 points but also actually received those points upon completion.
Upon reviewing the responses in these threads, it appears that the 500 point rewards are being distributed randomly and are not limited to specific regions.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes… 500 points for just downloading the monthly game and launching it?” expressed one Redditor from Canada. Another user from Scotland shared, “I noticed this myself, and I live in Scotland. I completed it as soon as I could, and I was surprised to see that it did indeed award me 500 points.”
One user highlighted that numerous members were rewarded with 500 points for the Tomb Raider campaigns, while others only received the standard 50 points. Interestingly, some individuals did not receive these campaigns at all.
As to whether this is a technical error or an intentional offering, only time will tell.
