Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged delayed on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch Version of Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged Delayed

The release of the Nintendo Switch version of Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged has been pushed back by one more month. However, the remastered version of the original point-and-click adventure game will still be available on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation, and Xbox on the scheduled date of September 19.

The decision to delay the Switch version was made in order to maintain consistent high-quality gameplay across all platforms. While the specific reasons for the delay have not been disclosed, the new release date for the Switch version is now set for sometime in October.

The remastered edition not only boasts improved graphics and sound but also introduces a new Story Mode with various quality of life enhancements designed to cater to a contemporary audience. One notable addition includes subtle hints integrated into the user interface to assist players in solving puzzles.

In addition to the technical improvements, the remaster has also addressed inconsistencies from the original game and made alterations to certain representation aspects. Players will have the option to switch between the modern and original versions of the game at any point during gameplay.

Following the release of this remaster, Revolution Software is preparing to launch the all-new Broken Sword 6. For more information on what to expect from the upcoming installment, check out the interview with creator Charles Cecil from last year’s Gamescom.
