Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Updates Promised by Developer Saber Interactive
The highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has had a successful launch and received critical acclaim. Developer Saber Interactive is not resting on its laurels, though. The studio has listened to fan feedback and has pledged to address several issues, with connectivity problems being a top priority. There is even a possibility of introducing an FoV (Field of View) slider in response to player requests.
Saber Interactive recently reached out to the community on Steam to gather feedback on areas that need improvement. Topping the list are the connectivity issues that have caused server problems, difficulty connecting with friends, and lost saves. The developer is working tirelessly to increase server capacity and reduce server load, with a major patch expected to address these issues soon.
Another issue that Saber Interactive is addressing is the effectiveness of bot teammates. Players have complained about their inefficiency making solo games more challenging. While Saber claims that bot behavior is intentional and does not want them to overshadow the player, the studio acknowledges that bots can sometimes be too passive. Improvements will be made specifically during campaign boss fights in the next patch, and their usefulness during specific objectives may be enhanced in the future.
In addition to these updates, Saber Interactive has promised to adjust the Veteran difficulty in a future patch to help solo players who are struggling due to bot inefficiencies. The developer ensures that the game will remain challenging but will be fairer by tweaking AI aggressiveness on this difficulty level.
Saber Interactive has also considered player suggestions for new classes, melee weapons, marine face customization, and armor colors. While some features are confirmed to be in the works, like marine face customization and new armor colors, the introduction of an FoV slider may face some challenges. Despite concerns about degrading the visual aspect of the game, Saber is considering this popular request.
While some player suggestions, like a left/right shoulder swap, have been denied due to technical limitations, there are still plenty of features in consideration. The full Q&A session with Saber Interactive provides more detailed insights for dedicated fans. If you haven’t experienced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 yet, consider giving it a try. Eurogamer contributor Rick Lane described it as a “spectacular and mostly thrilling follow-up,” likening it to a “KFC party bucket of video games” that is best enjoyed with friends.
