Designing Rush Mode in FC 25
Many of the innovative ideas implemented in Rush mode for FC 25 were actually in development before real-life rule changes were suggested. The game developers had specific design reasons for each rule change, with a focus on enhancing the gameplay experience.
According to Breno, one of the developers, “We actually started developing Rush before those real-life rule changes were even suggested. Each rule change had specific design reasons. For example, the blue card is a substitute for the red card to keep the game balanced and engaging. We wanted to create a penalty kick approach that engages more than just the two traditionally involved parties.”
Aside from drawing inspiration from real-life football, the developers also incorporated features from non-sports games. In multiplayer, there’s a Ping system that allows players to signal their teammates where they intend to move. This feature was inspired by other EA games like Apex Legends.
Rush Mode Features in FC 25
Rush mode isn’t just limited to social gameplay; it’s integrated across various modes in FC 25. Players can enjoy Rush in regular Kick-Off, Clubs mode, Ultimate Team variant, and even in Career mode. In Career mode, players can now participate in Rush matches with their youth team prospects, adding a hands-on experience to developing future stars.
