Exciting news for Stardew Valley fans as the Version 1.6 Update, which rolled out on PC earlier this year, is finally making its way to consoles.
In a recent announcement on the Stardew website and social media, the game’s creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone disclosed that the release date for the Stardew Valley 1.6 update on console and mobile devices is set for November 4th, 2024. This console update will arrive at Version 1.6.9, aligning with the PC update around the same period.
“Hello all, The console and mobile ports of the 1.6 update will be released on November 4th, 2024. Thank you for your patience. The console and mobile ports will release at version 1.6.9, which will also come to PC around that time. I’m looking forward to having 1.6 fully released on all platforms. Then I would like to finish Haunted Chocolatier next. Thank you -Ape”
Barone has stated that this update will encompass the Nintendo Switch platform. He reiterated his practice of releasing updates on PC first as a form of beta testing to address any critical bugs before the console release, where immediate patching is not as feasible.
If you’re wondering whether to start a new file with Version 1.6, Barone assures that you can enjoy almost all the new content with your current save. However, there are a few new additions, notably during the initial year compared to subsequent years.
