First Minecraft movie clip shows off how crafting works, and how it doesn’t

New Clip of Live-Action Minecraft Movie Unveiled

A recent clip of the highly anticipated live-action Minecraft movie has been revealed at Minecraft Live.

This short clip, less than a minute long, builds upon the initial sneak peek that was shared earlier this month.

Although the clip has not been officially uploaded to YouTube yet, you can view it at the 34:30 mark in the Minecraft Live video provided below, or through the X/Twitter post just below that.

The clip showcases Steve (played by Jack Black) demonstrating the functionality of his crafting table.

While the sword crafted by Black seems impressive, Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (portrayed by Jason Momoa) attempts to create something even more remarkable, with less success.

We are also introduced to our first Bee in the live-action movie, which is undeniably adorable.

“Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity is not just for crafting, but essential for survival,” reads the official description.

“Four misfits – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) – find themselves facing everyday challenges before being mysteriously transported through a portal into the Overworld: a peculiar, blocky realm fueled by imagination.

“To find their way back home, they must navigate this world (while also defending it from threats like Piglins and Zombies) and embark on a magical quest alongside an unexpected expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their journey will push all five characters to be brave and rediscover the unique creative skills that will help them thrive in the real world.”

The Minecraft movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 4th next year. For a deeper look at the film’s production, including insights into its set design, refer to the 30:21 timestamp in the video above.
