The Latest Xbox September Update Brings Exciting New Features
The Xbox September update has arrived, and it comes with a variety of new features and enhancements to elevate the Xbox experience across PC, mobile, and console platforms.
Pre-Download Game Updates
One of the most significant additions is the ability to pre-download upcoming game updates on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. This means no more waiting through lengthy downloads on update release day – you can dive straight into the gaming action.
While this feature is currently limited to select titles such as Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, and Cassette Beasts, more games are expected to support it in the near future.
To access this feature, ensure your Xbox is up to date and navigate to the ‘My Games & Apps’ window. Click on ‘Manage’ and then ‘Updates’ to see all available updates that you can pre-download.
Improved Wishlist System
The update also brings changes to the wishlist system, notifying you when a desired game is released, added to Xbox Game Pass, or available for free during a Free Play Day promotion. If you prefer not to receive these notifications, you can disable them in your settings.
Enhancements for Mobile Xbox App
The Xbox mobile app is receiving a revamp, consolidating features from the Xbox Game Pass app. With the Xbox app, you can now manage your Xbox Game Pass subscription and explore the Game Pass catalog, all in one place. The separate Game Pass app will be discontinued in November.
Game Bar Compact Mode for PC
PC players can look forward to the release of Game Bar Compact Mode, optimized for smaller displays and handheld devices. This update is particularly beneficial for users with devices like the Asus Rog Ally X.
Improved Game Management on Xbox App for PC
The Xbox app on PC is receiving enhanced game management features, making it easier to view and install add-ons and navigate installed content with updated user interface changes. These improvements aim to address some of the challenges users face on the platform.
