Hideo Kojima has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated game Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be released in 2025.
During a recent presentation for the sequel to Death Stranding on PlayStation, Kojima revealed that the release date has already been set for the game. However, he was unable to announce it at the event due to unforeseen circumstances (via VGC).
“I haven’t revealed the release date today, but it has already been decided, and I am working diligently to prepare for that,” Kojima stated.
“Since we are looking at a 2025 release, it will be coming out next year, and we will announce it at some point in the upcoming year. However, due to some unexpected factors, we are not able to make the announcement today.”

The announcement for Death Stranding 2 was made at The Game Awards 2022, signaling its launch on the PS5 platform. With the imminent release of the PS5 Pro, it is likely that the game will also be compatible with the mid-generation console. However, this has not been officially confirmed by Kojima Productions yet.
The upcoming action-packed sequel is a direct continuation of the popular 2019 game and will continue to follow the journey of familiar characters such as Sam ‘Porter’ Bridges and Fragile, alongside a new ensemble of Hollywood actors.
Death Stranding: Director’s Cut was initially released in 2021, with a subsequent PC version launched in 2022. There is speculation that On The Beach may be a timed exclusive for PlayStation, leaving open the possibility of a PC release in the future.
