Sony has recently decided to delist Horizon Zero Dawn from the Epic Games Store, leaving fans surprised and disappointed.
The popular action role-playing game, developed by Guerrilla Games, made its debut on PC in 2020. However, after four years, it is no longer available for purchase on Epic’s platform. The game’s page now simply states that Horizon Zero Dawn is “Unavailable”.
Despite this removal, the game’s Steam page remains active for now.
This decision comes shortly after Sony’s announcement of a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn set to release on October 31st for PlayStation 5 and PC.
The upcoming remaster of Zero Dawn promises various enhancements to the original game, including “more than 10 hours” of re-recorded conversation motion capture and numerous graphical improvements.
Notably, Sony quietly raised the price of the original Horizon Zero Dawn game on the PlayStation store last week. The sudden price increase from £15.99 to £34.99 caught many players off guard.
On the Epic Games Store, the price of Horizon Zero Dawn had been fluctuating, often dropping below $15 during sales. However, before its removal, the game was retailing for $49.99. Interestingly, this is the same price at which Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be sold. This means that players who bought the original game in September and opt for the $10 upgrade route would end up paying more.
Furthermore, the Horizon series will expand with Lego Horizon Adventures, offering a fun and colourful twist to the franchise as players can enjoy Aloy’s adventures in a Lego format. The Lego Horizon Adventures is scheduled to launch on November 14th across various platforms.
