Electronic Arts Unveils New Expansion Pack for The Sims 4
Electronic Arts has recently announced a new expansion pack for The Sims 4, set to be released on October 31st, just in time for Halloween. This upcoming downloadable content (DLC) focuses on the intriguing themes of death and ghosts within the game.
The expansion pack, titled Life & Death, is designed to enhance the game’s simulation of life and death mechanics. Players will now have the ability to create a bucket list for their sims, outlining goals they wish to achieve before they pass away. Sims who have unfulfilled items on their bucket lists may return as ghosts, providing them with a chance to complete their unfinished business before moving on.
In addition to these new features, the DLC will introduce changes to how sims grieve, offering four different types of grieving based on their personalities and relationships with the deceased. Players will also have the option to create a will, determining the distribution of heirlooms, money, and the treatment of dependents.
A new career path is included in the expansion, allowing players to take on the role of a grim reaper and assist in the passage of departed souls while dealing with haunting occurrences. While this new career path sounds exciting, some players may find similarities to the Paranormal Investigator career from The Sims 4 Paranormal Stuff Pack.
Furthermore, Life & Death introduces a new town called Ravenwood, featuring three distinct neighborhoods with diverse environments such as a creepy countryside, a grim cemetery, and a haunted bog. Early screenshots of the town look promising, especially for fans of eerie settings like the Moonwood Mill from the Werewolves game pack.
The pre-order for The Sims 4 Life & Death is currently available on PC for $39.99 / £34.99. Players who purchase the expansion pack before December 12 will receive bonus items including the Lasting Legacy Family Portrait, Mournful Melodies Music Box, and Plumed Elegance Mask.
This expansion will be accessible on all platforms where The Sims 4 is supported, including PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility.
