Renowned voice actor David Hayter may be hinting at a potential return to the world of Metal Gear Solid. Fans will remember his iconic role in 2010’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
The tease came from X, formerly known as Twitter. Hayter shared on social media, “I was in the booth today…playing a role I’ve not played since…” accompanied by a GIF of Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
While Hayter’s use of the GIF is exciting for fans, it’s important to note that it doesn’t confirm his involvement in the upcoming remake. Producers have mentioned that they are simply finalizing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, so his return remains unconfirmed until an official announcement is made.
In a recent interview with the producers of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami is revealed to be focused on preserving the beloved series. The release of Metal Gear Solid Collection Vol. 1 was just the beginning, with hints of a Volume 2 on the horizon. While no formal announcement has been made, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura teased the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot in future projects.
Although speculations are high about Hayter reprising his role as the Metal Gear Solid 3 protagonist, he has also showcased his talent in various other video game projects. From Survive’s bartender in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to Lieutenant Renn in Dragon Age: Inquisition, Hayter has left his mark on the gaming industry. His vocal contributions extend to television projects as well, with roles such as King Shark in CW’s The Flash and Captain America in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.
