PS5 Pro Enhanced The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Runs at a Solid 60 fps
With the upcoming launch of the PS5 Pro in November, several games are set to receive a performance boost. One standout title that showcases the improved capabilities of the console is The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. The PS5 Pro enhanced version of The Last of Us Part 2 delivers a stunning 4K final image running at a stable 60 frames per second, along with enhanced image detail.
According to Oliver Mackenzie from Digital Foundry, the enhancements in the PS5 Pro version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered significantly elevate both the image quality and performance of the game. Developer Naughty Dog has introduced a “Pro Mode” that utilizes a 1440p internal resolution which is then upscaled to 4K using PSSR. This results in a smooth 60 fps experience that seamlessly combines the game’s fidelity and performance modes.
Comparing the PS5 Pro enhanced version of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered to the base PS5 fidelity and performance modes reveals notable differences. While the performance mode on PS5 may achieve 60 fps, the image quality lacks detail. On the other hand, the fidelity mode on the PS5 offers a visually superior experience with sharper images and more detail, albeit at the cost of some frame rate. The PS5 Pro enhanced version manages to improve upon both aspects, delivering a solid 60 fps gameplay with even more detailed final images thanks to the console’s AI upsampling technology, PSSR.
Mackenzie praises the PS5 Pro’s rendition of The Last of Us Part 2, noting its success even in its pre-release state. He commends the console for providing a credible 4K image with excellent detail and impressive image stability at a flawless 60fps update. The PS5 Pro truly lives up to Mark Cerny’s description in the announcement video, achieving fidelity-like graphics at a performance frame rate.
