After nearly a decade, players of LittleBigPlanet 3 will soon see the game and its downloadable content (DLC) removed from the PlayStation store. The deadline to secure a digital copy of the game is October 31, 2024.
LittleBigPlanet 3 delisted nearly 10 years after release
The news was shared by the official LittleBigPlanet X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing gratitude to the game’s supporters and announcing the impending removal from the PlayStation Store on October 31, 2024. It was clarified that players who purchase LittleBigPlanet 3 and its DLC before the delisting date will retain access to their content. See the full statement below.
Currently priced at $19.99, LittleBigPlanet 3 also offers various DLC costume packs priced between $1.99 and $5.99. The Back to the Future Level Kit is an exception, providing costumes, music, stickers, objects, and decorations inspired by the famous film franchise. While acquiring all DLC packs may incur costs, they are available for interested players.
Although Sumo Digital developed LittleBigPlanet 3, the series was originally created by Media Molecule. The company expressed their appreciation for the game and its community on X (formerly Twitter).
“LittleBigPlanet shaped us as a studio & remains an important part of who we are,” Media Molecule wrote. “We are & always will be forever grateful for it & the incredible community it has inspired.”
The delisting follows the shutdown of LittleBigPlanet 3’s servers several months ago. In January, the decision was made to indefinitely halt the servers, ceasing all online services. This included user-generated content produced with the game’s unique tools. Player-created content stored on consoles is still accessible, and offline features like the campaign remain unaffected.
