Rockstar Announces Red Dead Redemption PC Release
After a long 14-year wait, Rockstar Games has finally confirmed that Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare expansion will be hitting PC on October 29, 2024.
“For the first time ever, players can embark on John Marston’s iconic journey with enhanced graphics and detail on PC. Both Red Dead Redemption and the chilling Undead Nightmare will be available on PC starting October 29,” Rockstar declared.
Enhanced Features and Platforms
The PC release, in collaboration with Double Eleven, will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Store. The game will boast significant enhancements such as native 4K resolution at up to 144hz, monitor support for Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide displays, HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality.
Additionally, players can expect support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, along with customizable settings for draw distances, shadow quality, and more.

Content and Multiplayer Mode
The PC version will include the complete single-player experiences of both games and bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. However, multiplayer mode will not be available for this release.
Originally launched in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Red Dead Redemption expanded its reach to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
Undead Nightmare, the standalone expansion pack, introduced a thrilling zombie-themed single-player campaign, multiplayer modes, and a range of cosmetic items when it first came out in October 2010. The re-release in 2023 brought back this non-canonical story following John Marston’s quest to solve a zombie plague.
The PC version had been a hot topic of discussion since the leak earlier this summer, building anticipation for Rockstar’s official announcement.
On the horizon, Rockstar is preparing for the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6, one of its most highly anticipated games ever, set to debut in Fall 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. At present, a PC version has not been confirmed for this release.
