Understanding Seething Opals in Diablo 4
Seething Opals are a new feature in Diablo 4’s ongoing Season 6, known as Season of Hatred Rising. While they may resemble regular gems, they are actually elixirs that offer temporary boosts to your character. Here’s a breakdown of how Seething Opals work and how you can leverage them to enhance your build.
Types of Seething Opals
There are a total of 5 types of Seething Opals, with one exclusive type reserved for owners of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. For all players, the available variants include Seething Opals of Equipment, Gold, Materials, and Torment. The Socketables version is specifically designed for players with the expansion, offering unique benefits.
While the names of these opals provide a hint about their effects, there are some key details to keep in mind. Common attributes across all types of Seething Opals include effects lasting for 30 minutes, the accumulation of Reputation with the Zakarum Remnants through kills, and a 15% increased XP gain.
The difference lies in the specific rewards granted by each type of opal. Whether it’s increased drop rates for Equipment, Gold, Materials, or specialized rewards like Artificer’s Stones and rare items, each variant offers distinct advantages based on your gameplay style.
Earning Seething Opals in Diablo 4
To acquire Seething Opals in the game, players can participate in the Realmwalker world event and complete Seething dungeons.
- Locate the area where the Realmwalker appears and eliminate all surrounding monsters and creatures, including the formidable Bloodbound Guardians. While the boss initially remains immune to direct damage, defeating the lesser foes will eventually weaken the Realmwalker.
- After defeating the boss, a portal will open, leading you to clear out more enemies until you reach a Realm Gate. At this stage, choose your desired reward type and ensure you have the required materials for the exchange.
- Head to the designated area to complete a Resplendent chest event. Successful completion of this event will grant you the specific type of Seething Opal you selected at the Realm Gate within the dungeon.
Material Requirements:
- Seething Opal of Equipment – 25 Murmuring Obols
- Seething Opal of Gold – 1 Iron Chunk
- Seething Opal of Materials – 5 Murmuring Obols
- Seething Opal of Torment – 200 Sigil Powders
- Seething Opal of Socketables – 3 Angelbreath (For Vessel of Hatred Players)
Don’t forget to consume your Seething Opals, as failing to use them will impede your progress with the Zakarum Remnants. Unlike previous seasons where reputation was automatically earned by slaying enemies, this season requires active consumption of the elixir to reap its benefits. Additionally, you can stack a regular Elixir with a Seething Opal to further enhance your character’s power while advancing your Reputation in-game.
