Sports Interactive has announced another delay for the release of Football Manager 25, pushing the launch back to 2025. This decision comes after discussions with publisher Sega, leading to a new release date in March of next year across all platforms.
Originally planned for November 26th on PC, PS5, and Xbox, with a Nintendo Switch release on December 3rd, the game’s launch has seen multiple setbacks. The developer expressed that the delay is essential to ensure the best possible experience for players and meet their high standards.
The studio explained that due to challenges faced during development, they needed more time to deliver the technical and visual advancements promised in Football Manager 25. Rushing the release would jeopardize the quality of the game and put unnecessary pressure on the team.
While acknowledging the disappointment this delay may cause, Sports Interactive emphasized the importance of delivering a product that they can be proud of. Advanced Access for PC/Mac will be available before the new release date, with a gameplay reveal scheduled for the end of January 2025.
For those who have pre-ordered the game, refunds are available upon request from the retailer. The developer thanked fans for their patience and support as they work towards creating a new era for Football Manager.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Miles Jacobson, the boss of Sports Interactive, shared insights on the challenges faced during the development of FM25. Despite the setbacks, Jacobson remains optimistic and sees it as a valuable learning experience for the team.
