PlayStation 5 Pro Preorders Now Available
The highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro is now available for preorder at Target, with other major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy set to start taking preorders today, October 10th. Priced at $700, the PS5 Pro is scheduled for release on November 7, along with the new Chroma Collection DualSense controllers and console covers.
PS5 Slim Digital Anniversary Edition Preorders
Aside from the PS5 Pro, today marks the beginning of preorders for the PS5 Slim Digital Anniversary Edition at major retailers starting at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET.
Features and Pricing
The PS5 Pro is a digital-only console but is compatible with the $80 Disc Drive attachment that PlayStation released last year. For those who prefer to have their consoles upright, the PlayStation Vertical Stand is available for an additional $30, bringing the total potential cost to $810 plus applicable taxes.

Target is currently the only major retailer accepting preorders for the PS5 Pro, with Amazon and Best Buy also having listing pages but not yet opened preorders. The PS5 Pro boasts a larger GPU that enables 45% faster rendering and enhanced visual technologies such as AI-driven upscaling and advanced ray tracing. Additionally, it features a 2TB SSD, double the storage space of the base PS5 Slim models, a significant upgrade considering that adding 1TB to existing PS5 models typically costs around $100.
The console’s design has undergone a minimal refresh with wider “racing stripes” on the side panels and comes bundled with a standard DualSense 5 controller. Extra DualSense controllers are priced between $75 and $80 each, depending on the color, reflecting a recent $5 price increase. The new Chroma Indigo and Pearl controllers will be available on the same day as the PS5 Pro, while the Teal model is set to launch in January.

The PS5 Pro’s 2TB SSD provides ample storage for games compared to launch and Slim PS5 models. However, for those looking to play physical games, the PS5 Disc Drive attachment is necessary. Priced at $80 and initially released last holiday for the PS5 Slim Digital, the Disc Drive is also compatible with the upcoming PS5 Pro.
Due to increased demand, the Disc Drive has been difficult to find in stock. As of October 10, it is available at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy, with Target currently sold out. GameStop requires Pro membership to purchase.
