Finishing the week with a straightforward Connections game is always satisfying, and today’s edition was quite enjoyable. While it required some thinking, the groups were not overly complex, and there weren’t too many distractions.

Although there were a few tricky elements, such as the almost-confusing group of SAUCE, DIP, RELISH, and GRAVY, which could have formed a food-related category but not a consistent one. Other than that, the solutions were fairly apparent, primarily consisting of synonyms without intricate hidden links to decipher.

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is a popular word game created by the New York Times. It tasks players with identifying groups of four items that share a common trait, with different difficulty levels for each group: green (easy), yellow (moderate), blue (challenging), and purple (very difficult).

Players are allowed up to four errors, providing some margin for mistakes. Additionally, the final group can be deduced through process of elimination. However, the game is more intricate than Wordle, offering opportunities for clever wordplay and potential traps like homophones that may obscure connections.

The game is accessible for free on the NYT Games platform across desktop and mobile devices.
