Unlocking The Pit in Diablo 4
The Pit of Artificers in Diablo 4 is a challenging endgame dungeon that offers great rewards for players. This timed dungeon was introduced in Season 4 and is a true test of your character’s build and skills. Your objective is to defeat a set number of enemies and take down the boss before the time runs out, with a maximum time limit of 15 minutes. As you progress, higher and more difficult levels are unlocked, providing a greater challenge and better rewards. How to Unlock The Pit?
- Reach Max Level 60: To unlock The Pit, players must reach Level 60. Upon reaching this milestone, a priority quest called ‘The Pit of the Artificer’ will become available, guiding you to the dungeon. Complete the quest and return to Cerrigar to begin your journey into The Pit.
- Find the Obelisk in Cerrigar: Head to the western part of Cerrigar and locate the obelisk. Interact with it to begin your adventure in The Pit.
- Use the obelisk as a portal: Whenever you feel prepared to face the challenges within The Pit, use the obelisk as a portal to access the dungeon.
Locating The Pit in Diablo 4
The Pit can be found in Cerrigar, located in the region of Scosglen. To enter this timed dungeon, players need to contribute Artificer’s Stones at the portal. These materials can be collected from various sources such as Helltides, Legion events, Whispers, and Nightmare Dungeons.
Unlocking Higher Tiers in The Pit
To unlock higher tiers in The Pit, players must clear the current tier within the time limit. The number of tiers unlocked depends on how quickly the zone is cleared:
- Finishing within 15 minutes unlocks 1 tier.
- Finishing with 4-6 minutes remaining unlocks 2 tiers.
- Finishing with 6+ minutes remaining unlocks 3 tiers.

- Obducite Tier 1-29 (Masterworks Rank 1-4)
