Disable Vanguard
To remove Valorant from your system, you’ll need to first disable Riot’s anti-cheat software, Vanguard. This step is necessary before uninstalling the game completely. Here’s a simple guide on how to disable Vanguard:
- Open your Windows System Tray located at the bottom right-hand corner of your desktop.
- Locate the Vanguard icon in the System Tray and right-click on it.
- From the context menu, choose Exit Vanguard.

Uninstall Riot Vanguard
Once Vanguard is disabled, you can move on to uninstalling it completely from your system. Follow these steps to uninstall Riot Vanguard:
- Press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app.
- In the Settings app, navigate to Apps.
- Locate Riot Vanguard in the list of installed apps.
- Select Riot Vanguard and click Uninstall.

Uninstall Valorant
With Vanguard uninstalled, you can now proceed to remove Valorant from your device. Here’s how to uninstall Valorant:
- Open the Settings app using Windows Key + I.
- Navigate to Apps.
- Locate Valorant in the list of apps.
- Click on Valorant and then select Uninstall to remove the game.
Remove Leftover Files
After uninstalling Vanguard and Valorant, it’s a good idea to check for any leftover files to ensure a complete removal. Here’s how you can check for and remove any leftover files:
- Open File Explorer.
- Enter C:Riot Games in the address bar at the top and press enter.
- You will be taken to the Riot Games directory.
- If there are any folders present in the directory, delete them to eliminate any remaining files from Valorant.
