Alan Wake 2’s anniversary update is full of great accessibility options

Remedy Entertainment Celebrates First Anniversary of Alan Wake 2 with Major Accessibility Update

Remedy Entertainment is marking the one-year anniversary of Alan Wake 2 with a significant update focused on enhancing accessibility features. The “Anniversary Update” is set to release on Oct. 22 for both PC and consoles, introducing a new menu with a variety of gameplay options that can assist players in progressing through the game more easily, whether they are newcomers or veterans looking to breeze through a second playthrough. This update is particularly beneficial as the game can be quite intense and spooky, so these new features aim to make the gaming experience less stressful.

List of New Accessibility Options:

  • Gameplay toggles for easier navigation
  • Assistance for first-time players
  • Options for speeding up gameplay

Furthermore, on the PS5, Alan Wake 2 will now support gyroscopic aiming with the DualSense controller. Additionally, the controller’s haptic feedback will now provide vibrations when using healing items and throwables, a feature that was previously limited to firing weapons. Across all platforms, Remedy has also included the ability to invert the X axis for both mouse and controller inputs (Y axis inversion was already available).

Aside from the anniversary celebration, this update precedes the launch of Alan Wake 2’s final story DLC, The Lake House. It also coincides with the upcoming PS5 Pro update, promising improved graphics and performance enhancements. For those interested in purchasing the game, a 50% discount is available exclusively on the Epic Games Store for Windows PC until Halloween.
